Sunnah Challenge of the Week

This semester, ISNU hopes to inspire students to implement more Sunnah practices of our beloved Prophet (ﷺ). Every week, we will be sharing a Sunnah and challenging the community to incorporate it into their daily lives in the hopes of strengthening our imaan together, insha’Allah. 

"Whoever revives my Sunnah then he has loved me. And whoever loved me, he shall be with me in Paradise."

Jami' at-Tirmidhi 41

Hadith on Spreading Salam:

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 

وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، لَا تَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ حَتَّى تُؤْمِنُوا، وَلَا تُؤْمِنُوا حَتَّى تَحَابُّوا، أَوَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى شَيْءٍ إِذَا فَعَلْتُمُوهُ تَحَابَبْتُمْ؟ أَفْشُوا السَّلَامَ بَيْنَكُمْ. 

“By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, you will not enter Paradise until you believe, and you will not truly believe until you love one another. Shall I not tell you of something which, if you do it, you will love one another? Spread Salam among yourselves.”

ISNU's Challenge

A simple “Assalamu Alaikum” can spread peace, strengthen relationships, and bring people closer together. 

This week, make an effort to spread Salam wherever you go—to friends, classmates, family, and fellow Muslims. 

Challenge yourself to say Salam to at least 5 people each day, even to someone you may not know well. 

Make Salam a habit and help create a community where peace, kindness, and love are shared freely, just as the Prophet ﷺ instructed.
